That's what I'm going to do with this blog. I'm going to turn it into my punkrustic blog, so you can see me knitting boas and baking ankh bread and cross-stitching "Hel's kitchen" pieces for the pantry wall. Mmm.

knitty.com
knitty.com is a nifty site devoted to my latest whimsical hobby.
Over the years, I think I've established that deep down I want to be terminally domestic--but with an edge. Recipe collecting, knitting, planting tomatoes in pots, and rock climbing... YEAH.

Cartoon junkies
I have always had more than a burning desire to be a political cartoonist. This is one of those projects I want to conscript my partner into.
Finally, a textbook on the subject. Sort of. Cagle Cartoons has put together a "Best of" book for the past year in funnies.
I used to print these up at work and hang them on my wall. These days, I save online cartoons and save them to my screensaver folder.
But someday, someday... I will make art, politics, and wit collide, too.

Plastic surgery for your brain
CNN.com - Pentagon debate rages over 'information operations' in Iraq - Dec 2, 2004
CNN management has asked the Pentagon for an official response to a report in the Los Angeles Times that identified Gilbert's comments as a possible case of deliberate misinformation of news outlets. The newspaper reported that the interview was part of a broader effort to manipulate the media to achieve U.S. goals in Iraq.
My head hurts.

Bein illin'
So far, in the past five days, I've had a tummy bug, the flu, a gallbladder attack, and a mild migraine.
We are not amused.

Photosphere: The happy accident
This gem was taken at Eastern State Penitentiary--but isn't of the prison at all. As near as I can figure, it was an accidental shot of my purse strap over my sweater; you can make out the stitching on the strap and the cables on the sweater, but damned if I can figure out what the other tricks of light making up the photograph are. The result, however, is downright Giger-esque.

Mmmm.
Today has been so mellow and wonderful, which is a counterpoint to yesterday's strung-too-tightness. Everything that could go wrong yesterday did, and I watched several tempers flare in strange places, even my own. Scuff marks.
I don't have anything resembling a Halloween costume. Dean is napping, which at 9 p.m. prolly isn't the best idea.
Onward it goes!

And we're off!
Well, looks like wiretapestry is back in action. I have no idea what this means, really; I've lost most interest in online journalling as I used to do it, and to be honest I don't have the time, between work, a failing home computer, DJing, and whatnot. But who knows; it's a new year for me (I just had a birthday), and with every new year comes new challenges and new interests. We shall see, neh?

Testing!
I've switched to blogger in hopes that my blog will no longer be abused by the masses. I'll repost some of the content in this new format--the oldies but goodies, that is, but all my archive pages are going kerploink. If there was something you had bookmarked, I apologize, but there are tens of thousands of spam comments in the journal, and, well, change starts with me. :)

Testing one two eighteen!
Moving away from moveable type, cause of all that spam b.s. we'll see if this makes things any better.
