The new and improved Wiretapestry

That's what I'm going to do with this blog. I'm going to turn it into my punkrustic blog, so you can see me knitting boas and baking ankh bread and cross-stitching "Hel's kitchen" pieces for the pantry wall. Mmm.

Tuesday, December 21, 2004 is a nifty site devoted to my latest whimsical hobby.

Over the years, I think I've established that deep down I want to be terminally domestic--but with an edge. Recipe collecting, knitting, planting tomatoes in pots, and rock climbing... YEAH.

Cartoon junkies

I have always had more than a burning desire to be a political cartoonist. This is one of those projects I want to conscript my partner into.

Finally, a textbook on the subject. Sort of. Cagle Cartoons has put together a "Best of" book for the past year in funnies.

I used to print these up at work and hang them on my wall. These days, I save online cartoons and save them to my screensaver folder.

But someday, someday... I will make art, politics, and wit collide, too.

Plastic surgery for your brain - Pentagon debate rages over 'information operations' in Iraq - Dec 2, 2004

CNN management has asked the Pentagon for an official response to a report in the Los Angeles Times that identified Gilbert's comments as a possible case of deliberate misinformation of news outlets. The newspaper reported that the interview was part of a broader effort to manipulate the media to achieve U.S. goals in Iraq.

My head hurts.
